Anthony Kim Wins Wachovia

By Murray

Due to his knee surgery, Tiger Woods was unable to defend his Wachovia Championship title. Anthony Kim, however, provided the fans at Quail Hollow Club with some Tiger-like brilliance of his own.

In his almost perfect performance on Sunday, the 22-year-old Kim became the youngest winner on the PGA Tour in six years. Monster drives, laser guided approach shots and stable putting, resulted in a 3-under 69 to cruise to five-shot finish over Ben Curtis.

Kim said. “I’ll never forget that feeling. I had chills going up and down my spine. I want to recreate that as many time as possible now, so I’m really goint to work hard.”

Kim won $1,134,000 and has become the youngest winner since Sergio Garcia won his third PGA Tour title in the 2002 Mercedes Championship.

“I knew my life was changing on the 18th green when I was lining that putt up.”
Kim said, ” I realized what I had doneand all the hard work had paid off.”
