Golf Gifts – Looking for a Great Fathers Day Gift?
By
Hey kids, Father’s Day is fast approaching. If your Dad’s a golfer, here’s a gift idea that I’m sure he’ll appreciate all season long, (I hope my kids read this).
Ballfinder Scout™
The Ballfinder Scout™ is a new electronic device that finds lost golf balls. It uses a new technology that doesn’t require a special golf ball with something embedded into it for detection. This device can search for a golf ball covering 600 square feet in seconds. As long as there are 3 dimples on the ball visible, the Ballfinder Scout™ will likely find it.
The unit uses a proprietary digital imaging technology, a video-like digital camera inside.
PGA professional and 2008 European Ryder Cup Captain, Nick Faldo is a spokesperson for the Ballfinder Scout™. Nick is quoted as saying; “The reason why I’m involved with the Scout is because it’s an extremely innovative product.”
To use the device you simply hold it at arms length, then press and hold a button to turn it on. Slowly scan the area where you’ve lost your ball. When the unit detects a white object it will emit a low noise vibration. The Ballfinder Scout™ also has two LED lights on the front edge of the unit, each of which will flash if the ball is located to the right or left. Simply follow the direction that the LED’s indicate. The unit will also display the location of the ball on the color LED screen.
The Ballfinder Scout™ will improve enjoyment of the game for many weekend players.
- Speed up the play by allowing more concentration on shots rather than ball searching.
- Less lost balls during a round.
- The days of embarrassment due to delaying the game may finally be behind us, (well, for me at least).
But hey, I’m not alone. As reported in “Golf Magazine”, there are 2,465,753 golf balls lost in the U.S. per day!
The Ballfinder Scout™ can be found at golf shops throughout the U.S. or for more information go directly to their website; www.scoutgolf.com.
For all you golfing Dads; you might want to print this article and leave it in a place where your kids will catch the Fathers Day hint… I’ll be printing several copies.
