PGA Golf: U.S. Open – Memorable Moments

By Murray

In 1960 Arnold Palmer was seven strokes behind the leader entering into the final 18 holes. Arnold had previously declared that he thought he could win with a 65. Bob Drum apparently told Palmer, “No”, “You’re too far back”. Arnold stood at the first tee and drove the par 4 green on his way to a victorious 65. The win was 2 strokes better than the 20 year old Amateur who had been in the lead. Jack Nicklaus. Here’s the video

Arnie and Jack met again at the 1967 U.S. Open
