Tiger Woods: Block Party Raises Over $1 Million
ByThe Tiger Woods Block Party, held at the Grove of Anaheim raised over $1 million dollars in support of the Tiger Woods Learning Center. This was the third annual event hosted by Tiger himself.
Along with Tiger, other PGA greats, Fred Couples and John Cook, joined in for the exhibiiton golf game at Mesa Verde Country Club.
The event drew an attendance of over 700, including several celebrities including; John Mayer, Teri Hatcher, Isaiah Washington, Lindsay Davenport and Dave Annable.
Fred Couples turned the live auction up a few notches when he offered the winning bidder a round of golf at Augusta National Golf Club with himself on the Sunday prior to the Masters Tournament. The winning bid was $145,000.
Tiger has donated more than $9 million of his own money toward the center, and takes a leading role in it’s fund raising and support efforts.
