Tiger Woods Out of Action 4 to 6 Weeks

By Murray

tiger_woods02.jpgIt was announced today that Tiger Woods successfully underwent arthroscopic knee surgery once again on his left knee.
He expects to return to action within 4 to 6 weeks.

Tiger stated: “I made the decision to deal with the pain and schedule the surgery for after the Masters.” “The upside is that I have been through this process before and know how to handle it.” “I look forward to working through the rehabilitation process and getting back to action as quickly as I can.”

His left knee has been causing him pain since the middle of last year, when his doctors
recommended arthroscopic surgery. Dr. Thomas D. Rosenberg performed the operation and reported that there was cartilage damage which has been successfully corrected.

Tiger finished second to Trevor Immelman at the Masters this past Sunday.

Four to six weeks likely means that Tiger will miss the Players Championship but should be back in time for the U.S. Open at Torrey Pines in June. He will also not be able to defend his title at the Wachovia Championship May 1st.

Tiger’s swing coach stated in an interview with Associated Press;
“ This is something he’s already used to.” “He deals with stuff incredibly, like you would expect him to.”
